To better serve the needs of the artists and of the printmaking community brought on by the introduction of new practices, the organization underwent a complete restructuring of its structure, mandate and activities in 2005 and has thus now changed its name to ARPRIM, Regroupement pour la promotion de l’art imprimé.
To define the techniques comprised by print media we have referred to the
Code d’éthique de l’estampe originale (CQE 2000) ("The Code of Ethics For Original Printmaking"). Thus, print media refers to all traditional and/or innovative art techniques that use the matrix as a means. Our new mandate is therefore:
To promote the knowledge, the dissemination and the presentation of contemporary printmaking and print media on national and international levels.
General objectives :
- To group together all the professionals of the printmaking and print media sector in order to serve as reference for the field;
- To support and organize major events in order to encourage the promotion of printmaking and print media and to increase their visibility on the market;
- To develop a national and international network through collaboration with other organizations specializing in printmaking and print media;
- To support research and development initiatives in the area of printmaking and printed media.
