Plongez dans l'univers de Andrée Bélanger
Dans le cadre de l'exposition Déplier les (non) frontières de Andrée Bélanger, nous avons invité le publique à participer à une discussion animée par l'artiste elle-même le 9 octobre à 14h00.
Présentation des travaux menés au cours de la première année de l'artiste au Doctorat en études et pratiques des arts (UQAM), durant laquelle elle s'interroge quant aux intersections fécondes entre l'art contemplatif sensible qu'elle pratique et les stratégies de transmission des concepts proposées par l'institution académique.
Andrée Bélanger a suivi une formation en arts visuels à Dawson City (Yukon), puis elle a présenté une variété de projets multidisciplinaires au Québec, dans le Grand Nord canadien et en Europe, avant de s'installer dans une cabane en forêt au Témiscouata (Bas-Saint-Laurent). Elle a reçu plusieurs bourses du CALQ et du CAC pour des projets abordant la relation aux écosystèmes et l’élaboration de médiums de création biosourcés, matériaux qui se révèlent ensuite via œuvres picturales, installations et livres d’artiste. Doctorante en études et pratiques des arts à l’Université du Québec à Montréal (2024-), elle approfondit par une pratique artistique et phénoménologique en milieu forestier sa réflexion quant au potentiel de la connexion à soi pour soutenir l’être humain dans la redécouverte de sa juste place au sein du vivant et au-delà. Elle est membre du Centre de recherche Cultures – Arts – Sociétés (CELAT), du Groupe de recherche interdisciplinaire sur le végétal et l'environnement de l'UQÀM, et du SenseLab / 3 Ecologies Project, ainsi que de nombreux centres d'artistes et regroupements professionnels en art, incluant le collectif Voir à l'Est dont elle assume la présidence.

As part of Andrée Bélanger’s exhibition Déplier les (non) frontières, we invited the public to take part in a discussion led by the artist herself on October 9 at 2:00 p.m.
The presentation will showcase the work carried out during the artist’s first year of doctoral studies in Art Studies and Practice (UQAM), during which she explores the fertile intersections between the sensitive, contemplative art she practices and the strategies for conveying concepts proposed within the academic institution.
Andrée Bélanger received visual arts training in Dawson City (Yukon), and went on to present a variety of multidisciplinary projects in Quebec, the Canadian Far North, and Europe, before settling in a forest cabin in Témiscouata (Bas-Saint-Laurent). She has received several grants from the CALQ and the Canada Council for the Arts for projects exploring the relationship with ecosystems and the development of bio-based creative mediums—materials that later take form through paintings, installations, and artist books. Currently a doctoral candidate in Art Studies and Practices at the Université du Québec à Montréal (since 2024), she deepens her reflection through an artistic and phenomenological practice in a forest environment, investigating the potential of self-connection to support the human being in rediscovering their rightful place within—and beyond—the living world. She is a member of the Cultures – Arts – Societies Research Centre (CELAT), the Interdisciplinary Research Group on Plants and the Environment at UQAM, and the SenseLab / 3 Ecologies Project, as well as various artist-run centers and professional art organizations, including the collective Voir à l'Est, of which she currently serves as president.
